It is simply a fact that Dr. Mark Dekutoski loves to teach others how to heal the sick better than ever before. That is one reason why he is a top medical researcher. He probably comes to his teaching honestly, stemming from a lifelong love of learning that has always been there. After he graduated high school, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Albion University in 1982, before going on to Wayne State University School of Medicine and officially becoming Dr. Mark Dekutoski, MD in 1986.
Of course, just getting a medical degree was not the end of Dr. Mark Dekutoski’s educational journey. Following medical school, he completed an internship in general surgery in 1987 and a residency in orthopedic surgery in 1991, also at Wayne State. He also served as a John H. Moe Clinical Spine Fellow at the Twin Cities Scoliosis Spine Center at the University of Minnesota in 1993, which was an incredible learning experience.
Nowadays, he is known for his very impressive research and writing skills. For example, Dr. Mark Dekutoski has been a reviewer and collaborator for many surgery-related medical journals and he has also served as an editor for several publications, including one of the most prestigious orthopedic journals in the world, Spine. He is so highly regarded that he also served as Associate Editor for the Journal of Spine Disorders and he was chosen to serve on the editorial board for the Journal of Current Surgery. When you look at all of his experience, you can see how it has allowed him to improve his decision-making processes and even to help shape the entire field of orthopedic spinal surgery. Dr. Mark Dekutoski is a leader in the field of spine surgery and it shows in everything he does.
